O Ye Of Little Faith - Why Worry About Today?
Matthew 6:30 - “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?”
Sometimes when I am reading the Bible I think the Holy Spirit put “this” in the Bible just for me! When I read here about “little faith”
I am sure my Lord is talking to me! Verses about worry are always this way.
I believe worry is the sin that most Christians seem to think God winks at.
“He understands my dilemma and my worry is therefore justified.”
If we cannot help but worry, then why did Christ tell us, “Let not your heart be troubled”?
In the context of our text (Matthew 6:24-34) our Lord is dealing with daily worries. Christ is teaching, we need not worry about our daily needs, God will see to it that His children that are living in His will are taken care of. He is also reminding us of why we need money. Money is a means to an end, and not the end itself. What the Christian should daily concern themselves with is found in
verse 33; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Our “little faith” can show up daily, and haunt us as we wonder and worry about the daily needs of life. Take a look at the fowls and fields. Are they worried about how they will live?
