"EVERYONE PRAISE THE LORD"
"Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven." (Psalm 148:11-13)
Those God haters and Bible rejecters like to puff their chest out and tell us that worshipping and praising the Lord is only for the uneducated, the poor, and the ignorant. But in those verses posted above, everyone is called to praise the LORD. The list includes kings, princes, and all judges. Young men, maidens, old men, and children are also mentioned.
Then someone comes prancing along and says, "But I don't hold any of those first 3 titles, and I'm not a young man, a maiden, an old man, or a child." But a closer look at verse 11 includes all people. Therefore, everyone is included, and no one is excluded to praise the one true God.
Some experts, who are nothing but a bunch of ex-perts, want to throw their two cents worth in, and tell us with their overflowing ego say, "Why?" Because verse 13 declares "His name alone is excellent." Paul tells us in Philippians 2:9, ""Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:"
There are rulers, there are kings, there are dictators, and yes, there are those sneaky fibbing politicians in Washington D.C., who've been swimming together in that same muck and mire as far back as I can remember, think they're the cat's meow. But their only desire is to be petted and then purr and strut about while trying to pull their filthy fur over our eyes with their lies.
Ah, but there's that only Begotten Son, the True One, Who is unique, supreme, the ever-reigning King of kings and Lord of Lords, Who alone is worthy of every person’s praise, service, and trust. He is not a fad or some passing fancy that fades with time like so many of the things which people so easily and quickly give their admiration, affection, and attention to.
Now, you've seen and heard about those folks that excuse themselves from whole-hearted devotion and praise to Jesus Christ.
Young people have swallowed Satan's tasty cream-filled lies that they can serve Him later. And you know what? They'll gobble that stuff down and swallow it without even chewing it.
Elderly people have come up with the idea that they are too far gone in years to be of any use now. They feel that the old pump can no longer be primed to witness to those who thirst for the Water of life found in Christ.
And then we have everyone else somewhere in the middle who thinks they are just too busy to be bothered with all that right now. They have their jobs and careers that keep them tied down all day and tensed up all night.
But all those excuses are mighty flimsy at best, aren't they? Yet, the Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 150:6 tells us, "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the LORD. That includes you, me, and Uncle Stu and Aunt Bea.
Friends, whoever we may be, or wherever we may live, and whatever our age or circumstances are, verse 13 exhorts all, "Let them praise the name of the LORD."
