MINISTRY
I have always viewed my presence here as a ministry, as a means of further publishing Bible truth. Sure, I throw in a few chuckles and a few light hearted items along the way, but my primary focus--the bulk of what I do--is PUBLISH GOD'S WORD.
In other words, the Internet is pretty much an extension of my church ministry. The Internet consists of PEOPLE, and people need the word of God, so I give it to them. Simple as that. Some like it, some don't. Some use it in their lives, in their preaching and teaching, some don't. Some pass it on to others, some don't. But the opportunity is there, so I take advantage of it.
Since preaching my first sermon years ago, I have always had a childlike attitude towards helping others with God's word. It has never grown beyond that simplistic two part scenario where (1) I deliver the word and (2) someone gets a blessing. That's all that matters to me, and I hope it stays that way. If no one gets a blessing, then I try again, maybe with another angle or another verse or two, or maybe with another title or another time. But I keep trying to be a blessing by publishing God's truth. That's all that matters.
I would sincerely ask my preacher friends to consider your presence. Are you seeking to be a blessing to others? Are others being spiritually edified with the things that you post, or are they merely being entertained? Do others look to you as a reliable source for a continued variety of Bible truth? Sure, there's nothing wrong with a little politics and humor, but is that your major or your minor? Should a preacher not major in the word of God? Please give it some meditation and prayer. Internet a grand mission field in itself. Let's not let God's word fall to the ground.
