Pray For Your Preacher
2 Thessalonians 3:1 - “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:”
Do you earnestly pray for your pastor/preacher? Especially for his sermon preparation and delivery.
Tomorrow, being Sunday, he will stand before the congregation of people that the Lord has entrusted him with for the hour. He will “preach” the Scripture text and sermon in which God has directed his heart to. He feels that he has the mind of God on the matter at hand but he will have doubts along the way.
Today, the day before, all he thinks about is the message and the people who will be there (or maybe not be there). Along with his regular duties and his family affairs, he has thought about you and your family all week. He desires God’s very best for your life. He desires the lost person in attendance to be saved. He needs you to fervently pray for him, and the Word of the Lord he will preach to have “free course” or to run unhindered and with strength. He desires it all, the message and his efforts, to be glorified in others as it has in you.
He desires God to be pleased!
Please take some extra time today to specifically pray for your pastor/preacher and his delivery of tomorrow’s sermon.
Your preacher needs you to pray for him.
God desires and instructs you to pray for him.
Only good can come from you praying for him. Pray!
