Message from my Aunt tonight. Hard to believe it has been 25 years. He was a great man to know.! Dad died 25 years ago yesterday.....Found this picture and write up.... that he had been a Lt Colonel and Brigade Commander in 1940's during WWII...European Theatre and Battle of the Bulge... then after war stayed in National Guard and named One Star General in 1971....and Assistant Adjudent General for the State of Missouri.....the Governor would call dad at home to call up National Guard when there were riots in St Louis.....and there were many riots in St Louis....Mother said Dad commanded 30,000 men in Europe during the war.....they had trucks, built bridges, in charge of fuel....If you get a chance to see the old movie "The Battle of the Bulge".....that is what Dad did in the war....they were in charge of the gasoline....and Germans wanted it...Russians also wanted it....
