Visited the old abandoned Speed World Drag Strip in Wittman AZ. I used to race here and do car shows about 10 years ago! So sad to see this once happening track crumbling down. It was the mecca of entertainment featuring drag racing, car shows, BMX bike track, motocross racing, dirt circle track racing, and Lucas Oil off-road racing track. State & City shut it down because the owner had made improvements, more tracks, and added grandstands without permits. The track has been closed about 10 years or more now. It’ll never reopen with new housing developments encroaching all around it 😞
