The Church today has compromised to the point of being almost irrelevant.Sad but true.Good word this morning from Pastor Allen JacksonSpeak God’s Truth in LoveEphesians 4:14-15 (NLT®)We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.Many churches have decided to do whatever it takes to make people feel good about themselves. In the process, they’ve taken many bedrock beliefs of Christianity off the table—the divinity and uniqueness of Jesus, His virgin birth, His death on the cross, and His resurrection. Perhaps most offensive to them is the belief that Jesus will return to the earth to judge every person. These people have remodeled Christianity into something less demanding, something that can be negotiated to accommodate their particular desires and temptations. You know people who have bought into these false teachings, and I do, too. When we’re faced with these “lies so clever they sound like the truth,” let’s not become angry or mocking. Let’s simply hold to the truth of God’s Word and speak it with boldness and love.THINK ABOUT ITDecide to be more loyal to God than anyone else. It will strengthen you to identify with and stand for His truth. The Holy Spirit will help you do that.PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for Your Word—for its truth, power, and authority—may it define my life. Help me guard my heart against deception, and grant me wisdom, knowledge, discernment, and understanding to boldly respond to deception in both kindness and truth.
