Grocery stores and other businesses are not "price-gouging" - they're price-surviving. If the Harris-Walz claims were true, then consumer prices would not be going up more slowly than producer prices. Yes, the Consumer Price Index is going up at a slower rate than the Producer Price Index. If "price gouging" were truly happening, those dynamics would have to be reversed. This is Econ 101 stuff. The remainder of her economic rescue package essentially says, 'Hey, vote for me and I'll give you more out of the Treasury than the other guy!'
