An up date on the fire pit / hot tub water heater / grill / auxiliary wood heat source I've been working on for my sun-room appliance:
The main containment comes from a trashed stainless dryer drum, with 1/4”rod used for the hot area supports and a 1/2”copper tube used for the hot tub auxiliary heat (to be connected to a circulation / fountain pump and 3/4”(?) ABS tube [PEX has a extreme problem with sun, and the temps should never be a problem with the ABS]) for the deck top hot tub above.
I still need to form the hood and ducting to run the length of the deck (under, slightly angled down as the heat will vent to the collector above, and cool in the tube) to be vented 3' vertical at the end of the upper deck.
I will set a few fires in the pit first, to check the temp on the close surfaces before any material is added, and to find a safe and effective fire size is good for the size of the container. The solar effect heat should travel up the hood and ducting when available as well.
BTW;
WHO the HELL is managing these "Retirement funds" ?????
I think that by now, a whole lot of people are not going to get the money they were counting on in their 401K (etc.). We may, however, have enough left for a “Homestead Act” to provide a reliable retirement job, were you only have to watch the equipment, and call the repair when (?) the machinery mucks up.
More than that, we may be soon entering a historically repeating methane cycle of plant reduction and rebuild. The ice records show a heat spike (and a resultant deep freeze on a pattern like clockwork. The ice record also may show an indication of a 10,000 year world civilization that moderated the cycle to maintain a reasonable event many many years ago (the two smaller heat spikes indicated on the chart).
The Earth may generate 'sour dough' methane in the minerals and function under the crust, continuously. It seeps up to make more methane from the biomass in the crust. More than that, we could be living off the landfills of old civilizations (oil). How long does it take the garbage to chemically complete into oil?
If the Earth produces this carbon fuel on a constant basis, we need to use that methane up before the under ground/sea storage Ralph it all up in a runaway atmosphere. We just need to find out what the required amount of safe use is and use it cleanly (torsion carbon exhaust recovery(???)) and or steam from the require amount of methane use found out.
PAY US (to clean up your crap / TURNING METHANE INTO PLANTS, HEAT, AND ELECTRICITY)!!:
