When we are bitter, angry, discontented, slanderous, gossiping, and hateful, we grieve the Holy Spirit within us, if so be that He is within us. When we sin in any form, we grieve God's Holy Spirit. For He is, after all, the "holy" Spirit, and all unholiness offends Him. His desire is to lead us in the paths of holiness and to impart to us all holiness of soul.
