"THE BREVITY OF LIFE FILLED WITH TROUBLE." "Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." (Job 14:1)Make no mistake about it, troubles are waiting in the wings for everyone as soon as the Doctor slaps their bottom. Job 5:7 reminds, "Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward." Without question, each one of us have our share of troubles and burdens. If you have no troubles and burdens, then pal, you're not breathing! From the dawning of the day till the covering of darkness, troubles are constantly dogging our trail. Many God-fearing people rise every morning with a troubled heart and fall asleep each night with a burdened soul. It could be a spouse who has forsaken them. It may be a child who has ripped their heart out because of bad choices. For some, the bills are piled clear up to the ceiling and the money to pay them is nowhere in sight. Then there's those physical maladies which are gnawing away at our bodies. But may I offer you what the Bible tells us to do with our burdens? David wrote, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." (Psalm 55:22) David had his share of troubles and burdens just like the rest of us. Someone says, "But wait a minute. I thought David was the king of Israel. Didn't he lead his armies to numerous victories? Didn't he have some degree of wealth to tide him over? Was he not the man after God's own heart?" Yes, he was and yes. he did, yet we find throughout the Scriptures that troubles and burdens plague the rich and the poor alike. They knock on the door of the upper class as well as the lower class, and that highway of heartache and that street of sorrow is traveled by the young as well as the old. Now, your troubles may be different from my troubles. Yet, they can weigh so heavily upon us till they reduce one to tears. You see, all of us are included and none of us are excluded in the crosshairs of those burdens and troubles.Friends, man is born unto trouble. Therefore, none of us are exempt from its grip. Where then can we cast our troubles and how can we bury our burdens? Who cares about all our cares and troubles? 1 Peter 5:7 invites one and all saying, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
