WASHINGTON POST: The killing (in Tehran) following a strike in Lebanon that Israel said killed a senior Hezbollah military commander, threatened to plunge the unstable region further into chaos and raised fresh doubts about Gaza cease-fire talks underway in Rome. So Israel taking out Hezbollah's Fuad Shukr and Hamas' Ismail Haniyeh are the supposed hot reasons for what "threatened to plunge the unstable region further into chaos" versus their own ordered targeted slaughtering of Israeli children that prompted said counterattacks? From where does that inverted burden of accountability moronically emanate? Why is Israel's counterattack the one emphasized as the "escalation"? By this creepy twisted measure, all respondents to an initiator's attack have a greater responsibility not to "escalate" than those who have obviously first escalated! The US and Europe can't credibly on one hand say Israel has the right to defend itself, but on the other hand impede that right by arguing that it can't hit back harder than it was struck. Otherwise, that provably permits said initiator to dictate the defender's retaliation. Give us all a break! Only those with an IQ below mucus swallow that academically impoverished crap.
