Just an update on the sun-room/greenhouse appliance (non attached/stand alone/important):
The big rocks have been moved, but not located, set, or grouted, and I ran out of shelving material, so I guess I gonna have to call that part complete. I still have some fill (smaller rock and dirt for exterior growth medium) and the “radar dish” will probably be replaced with 'link' soon enough (on the back of the assembly).
I'll get some 6 mil(?) plastic to enclose the area for the first year(?) and use the container door(s) for egress, then probably place another patio door as the first glass replacement. The plastic then can become (in some locations) a buffer between the metal and glass when the replaced area is cut out after placement.
The fire pit is a old stainless steel dryer drum, with collection tray under, and a couple (not shown) heat deflectors before the plastic/glass contact (close). The rest of the design should be reminiscent of the old “Partridge Family” school bus, from whatever glass I can find over the next few years on sale and scrapped. This is not designed to be air/water tight, and circulation is important for any green house effect. As long as the squirrels are not accepted, The sun and fire pit with low level heat recovery and some added insulation should drop the utility bill by about ½ this winter.
You mileage may vary.
