Upon your salvation, the Holy Spirit places a desire to Love within your heart. If God's 'love' is absent from your life then you should wonder why you are religious but not capable of recognizing love. Now, never confuse the 'love of or for the world' with God's love.No matter how religious you become, no matter how many spiritual songs you sing, no matter your knowledge of the Bible, the religious will attempt to approach God through their actions while being void in their understanding of the LOVE OF GOD.
