Let's suppose you are hurting and, after not being in church in years, you start back. You walk into this big room where you do not know a soul. --May I tell you what your biggest problem is going to be? --It's not to sit in judgment on the people around you. Something inside you wants to take the measure of their friendliness, their warmth, their participation in the service, and a hundred other things. If you are not careful, you will end up judging them for being judgmental, and how silly is that. --If I could do one thing for you, it would be to help you see that the people around you are very human. Each person has his/her own struggles to get through the day and they need encouragement too. Some of them are as troubled as you and trying to find their way back to faith, to peace, to the Savior.--So, please. Get your eyes off people and decide to bow down to the Lord Jesus Christ. Give yourself completely to Him and you will be surprised at how much (and how quickly) you begin to love those people around you.--Keep in mind always, my friend, you are going to church to GIVE UNTO HIM (which means to worship Him) and not to sit in judgment on anyone.
