Revival Or The Rapture Romans 13:11-14 “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” The current spiritual state of our world is insane. There are only two things that will change it; revival in the church or the rapture of the church. I believe our text indicates the possibility of both, and with the thought of the imminent rapture leading the church to a revival. The next great event on God’s prophetic calendar is the rapture of the church. Our text says, “knowing the time…, for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed…, the day is at hand…” All this is reference to the day of the LORD that begins with the rapture. Today could be the day!! Instead of sitting in recluse, waiting for it to happen. We are admonished “to awake out of sleep…, cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light…, walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying…, and make not provision for the flesh”. All of this and more the church ought to do and would certainly be a precursor to revival! Which of the two would you rather see happen; a revival in the church or the rapture of the church?
