Today we will continue with Hope Never Dies' chapter 2 about Julie Zahniser's case.
Julie's story is an ideal example of the many pieces of cancer care. All of these pieces together helped Julie but it's hard to know if she needed them all or maybe a combination of a few.
One of those pieces was low dose chemo using Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC), utilizing CellSearch to guide treatment. This method captures cancer cells that have shed into mainly the bloodstream, saliva and urine. One of the benefits is that it is a non invasive way to collect the cancer cell. This is then used to identify precise targets for your unique cancer signature.
This is very important because no one cancer is alike. CellSearch is one company of many that uses this CTC method. Again, we do not endorse but rather provide facts of what each patient used to beat the odds.
Tomorrow we will explain the benefits of the second piece that Julie used, which was low dose chemotherapy with CTC guidance.
