Christ Died For Our Sins1 Corinthians 15:1-4“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” Lately and often I have found myself preaching from this text. I love the simplicity God uses in this text in explaining the Gospel. Very simple, Point 1- “Christ died for our sins”. Over the last several days our devotions have been about sin. Sin is the transgression of the law. All mankind are sinners by choice and nature. All of mankind is guilty of sin. The Good News is “Christ died for our sins”!!! Point 2- “He was buried”. Christ died and He was buried. The Good News does not look too good at this point, but hold on!! Point 3- “He rose again the third day”!! The very best news that ever came, came from an angel outside of the tomb of Jesus on the first Easter morning! “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matt. 28:6). The glorious truth of the Gospel is that I am so sinful that Jesus had to die for me, but I am so loved by God that He was willing to die for me!
