All Have Sinned! As we continue our thoughts in this week’s devotions on the doctrine of sin, let us now look at the absolute truth that the Bible teaches that all have sinned. Romans 3:10-12 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” What is man apart from God? Romans 1:18-32 gives us the answer in vivid detail. It is NOT a pretty picture! There are two ways in which the Bible teaches that mankind is a sinner. Mankind is a sinner by nature and by choice. Mankind is a sinner by nature. Psalms 51:5“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” This truth can be also proven in the truth that mankind is born into this world bent on doing wrong. Parents have to teach their children to do what is right, because they (and we) all come into this world knowing full well how to do wrong. Mankind is a sinner by choice. Our above texts in Romans chapter 3 proves this truth. A good look at our world and the vile, gross, and perverted acts of mankind prove to us that each person is a sinner by nature and by choice. But hope lies in the truth that God sent us a Saviour. His name is Jesus.
