They had buried the young wife and the distraught husband and little son returned to the house now suddenly made emptier than it had ever been. When darkness came, they went to bed. Neither was able to sleep. The child said, "Daddy, where is Mommy?" Dad got up and picked up his son and put him in his bed. They lay there together. The child was restless and Dad told him to go to sleep. The little boy reached out his hand toward his father's face. "Daddy, is your face toward me?" "Yes, son. My face is toward you." He said, "If your face is toward me, I think I can go to sleep." Dad lay there in the darkness. Finally he prayed. "O God, the way is dark. I cannot see the way through. But if Your face is toward me, I think I can make it."Some of you are living this sadness right now. Please, please, never forget that the face of our Lord is toward you and He will be with you to bless and strengthen you.
