VACCINATED BY THE DEVIL "For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ." (II Cor. 11:2-3) Our text says that Satan wants to CORRUPT the minds of people. We are told in Colossians 2:8, "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Then we are told in II Peter 3:1 that Christians should have "pure minds", and Paul mentions the need for the believer to have a "sound mind" in II Timothy 1:7. I want to address the subject today of Satan's vaccines, for I believe the devil is in the business of INJECTING people with things that are not good for them. This is true physically, of course, as the long list of vaccines-gone-bad will reveal, but it's also true spiritually. That is, your pure and sound mind runs the risk of being corrupted by the subtle and deceitful philosophies of the devil. Because of the subtle and deceptive nature of the devil's work, today I'm likening his work to vaccines, something that passes off as good and positive, yet can sometimes have a very negative effect. The whole issue of vaccines through the decades has been a hot topic. Everyone has their own opinions about vaccines, and a great many of the opinions are based on exaggerated or false information. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. I tend to think that some of the more traditional, time-tested vaccines are usually good and that some of the newer ones are not so good, but that's not the subject of this message anyway. I want to address the subject of Satan's vaccines. Satan's vaccines are not literal and physical vaccines, but they are very real and they are very, very powerful and effective. By simple definition, a vaccine is a substance used to stimulate immunity to a disease or a disease producing agent. One takes the vaccine and he is inoculated against the disease. He cannot contract the disease because he is now protected from it. Well, decent people rightfully identify bad diseases and conditions. AIDS is bad, COVID is bad, polio is bad, cancer is bad, etc. But, if you're the devil and you exist to destroy and to kill that which is good and godly, then you take the position that bad diseases and conditions are good for your cause. You WANT people to be sick and dying. Spiritually speaking, instead of wanting people to be saved and serving God, you want them to be lost and serving the devil. Right? So, it stands to reason that if you are the devil, then you might be interested in coming up with a few vaccines that inoculate people, not against bad things, but against the good things that would lead them to salvation and an abundant life in the Lord Jesus Christ. After all, we know the devil is a counterfeit and that he appears as an angel of light (II Cor. 11:14), so a bit of spiritual malpractice on his part should surprise no serious believer. Through the years I have been continually surprised with how naive most of the brethren are and how ignorant they are of the devil’s devices, even though Paul warned us about this very thing (II Cor. 2:11) and the first thing that the Bible tells us about the devil is that he is SUBTLE (Gen. 3:1)! Jesus is the Great Physician, but Satan is the EVIL physician, and one of his evil practices is to inject people with deceptive vaccines that inoculate them from the good things that God wants them to have. We are told in I Thessalonians 5:21 to PROVE all things. Why are we told this? Is it not because Satan is in the evil business of injecting his lies and corrupt philosophies into the hearts and minds of people by the millions? Yet, very few spend enough time in the scriptures to truly know God's way from the devil's way, so when Lucifer's doctors and nurses show up with his cleverly-marketed vaccines, people think they're wonderful, and they rush out to take the jab, having no idea that they're really just inoculating themselves against God! This will one day culminate with the literal Mark of the Beast itself, but it's already happening spiritually, and has been happening for a great long while. Let me tell you about a few of the devil's vaccines that you should avoid at all costs . . . I. THE UNGODLY GAIN VACCINE "Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself." (I Tim. 6:5) Millions have taken the devil's jab and have signed on to the notion that "if it's big, it's blessed." Rather than accepting the principle of I Corinthians 1, that God chooses small, base and weak things to CONFOUND the mighty, they actually CHOOSE the mighty! They choose the big churches, the big-name preachers, the big singing groups, the big publishers, and if you try to introduce them to some lesser known person, place or thing, they'll respond with all the blind pride they can muster and say, "Never heard of him." They were told to ". . . Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate . . ." (Rom. 12:16), but they do just the opposite by minding ONLY high things while turning up their noses at men of low estate! What's their problem? They've been POISONED! They’ve been jabbed! They've been inoculated by the devil, vaccinated against the truth of God Almighty! They are IMMUNE to the truth of God, and they strut through life feeling superior to the rest of us. Sometimes it's money, sometimes it's the big church they attend, sometimes it's the big company for which they work or the prestigious club of which they are a member, but it all comes down to "I'm special, I have arrived, and I have no need of what you have to offer." If that sounds familiar, it should. In Revelation 3:17, Laodicea said, "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing." She's deceived by the devil’s jab, because God said, ". . . thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." Give the devil his due! That's quite a job, or quite a JAB, rather, when you can have people thinking that they need nothing when they're really wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked! They took the devil's jab, the vaccine of ungodly gain, and it corrupted them from head to foot. Today they look down their noses at you. Tomorrow God will spew them out of his mouth. II. THE LOVE VACCINE You know as well as I that God has many attributes. Some of his attributes are incommunicable attributes, such as his omniscience and his omnipotence, and others are very communicable, such as his longsuffering, his holiness, his jealousy, his love, his justice, his faithfulness and his honesty. Yet, about the only thing that some people know about God is that he is LOVE. That's all they can think of when thinking of God. He has MANY attributes, and his words declare it over and over again, yet some people only think of love when they think of God. Why is that? I'll tell you why! Somewhere along the way they took the devil's love potion, and now their minds are CORRUPT and they are inoculated against the true God of the Bible. You can tell them about a God of justice, and they'll reject you. Speak to them of God's holiness, and they'll re-fashion him after their own corrupt image. They want only a god of love who tolerates their sins in this life and will not punish them for their sins in the next life. That's not the God of the Bible, but they've been drugged into thinking that it is. They took the devil's love drug, and now everything they think about God is corrupted because they run it all through their "love" filter. Hell makes no sense to them, because a "God of love" wouldn't burn anyone in hell. Capital punishment makes no sense to them, because a "God of love" wouldn't kill anyone. Preaching against the sodomites is deemed as "hate" by these people, because a "God of love" understands and accepts everyone as they are. You see how it works? Once a man takes the devil's love jab, it poisons his mind and spiritual vision so that he no longer sees anything through God's eyes of holiness. He took the jab, and now he's blinded by Satan (II Cor. 4:4) and is even a minister of Satan (II Cor. 11:15). III. THE EMPTY-BELIEVE VACCINE Commonly called “easy” believism, empty believism is the belief that a sinner can merely repeat an empty prayer and receive eternal life from God even though he shows no change of heart and continues in his sins. It is argued that such a person might very well have gotten saved, but that it will take time, perhaps many years, for him to grow as a Christian and become fruitful. This “we can’t know their hearts” doctrine gives the empty-believe “soul winner” an escape as he presses on and injects more sinners with his fake salvation, which is EMPTY of any Holy Ghost leadership or conviction. He’s merely a high-pressure religious salesman who uses worldly methods to pressure the lost sinner into making a salvation profession. Once the sinner makes the profession, he is now vaccinated. He is inoculated against all future gospel witnesses, having been assured by Satan’s salesman that he is already saved. If that sounds too harsh, please give some attention and respect to the inspired words of God: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Mat. 7:21-23) “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1:16) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (II Cor. 5:17) “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Mat. 7:20) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:8-10) “Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” (Mat. 3:8-10) Here are a few samplings from a growing file that I keep, called “First-Hand Reports of Empty Believism”: “A lot of times when I went out to pass out tracts and witnessed, more often than not, I would encounter those who “prayed a prayer” but still lived in sin and, when you try to give them the gospel, they would state that they already “prayed the prayer”! I couldn’t help but think how many of these poor deluded souls will wake up to the horrifying reality that they were greatly deceived!” “I was reading your post today and it made me think of the church I attended. The pastor was a Hyles Anderson graduate. The church never exceeded more than 50 in attendance but would claim 200-250 conversions a year. I don’t recall in four years ever seeing a soul baptized. Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon they were faithful about door knocking and racking up statistics but no real fruit.” We had a missionary to Mexico come by on deputation. We went door knocking in an apartment complex. We knocked on a door and a young man came to the door who was clearly intoxicated and had a beer in his hand. The missionary was the lead talker at this door, so he led the young man down “The Romans Road.” When it came to “decision time,” we was about to PRAY with this guy and “lead him to Christ.” I had about all I could stand. He never mentioned repentance at all and this drunk young man clearly was in no position to “accept Christ.” So I intervened and rebuked what was going on. We left the young man with a tract and I asked him to let us know if we could be of further help to him. Needless to say, the Missionary was not pleased with me at all. I had cost him another bullet in his prayer letter. Also needless to say, we never took this clown on for support.” Folks, this thing is more real than any of us will know this side of heaven. Numbers are powerful, and preachers who spend lots of time socializing with other preachers want NUMBERS to talk about with their buddies, so the pressure is always on to “get professions, get professions, get professions!” Once you start down that road, it becomes an addiction as you don’t ever want to have few or no professions or baptisms to report, so you produce them with NO Holy Ghost guidance or discernment or conviction. As a result, many sinners are inoculated against the true gospel via a cheap grace vaccine sold to them by the devil. Most of them will never receive Christ, because they think they’ve already received Him! That’s the empty-believe vaccine. It’s very powerful, and it’s very deadly. IV. THE “JUDGE NOT” VACCINE Another deadly vaccine is the “judge not” vaccine. People, by nature, want to live in sin, and they want sin to freely march through society. They are uncomfortable with Christians speaking out against sin, because sooner or later THEIR choice sin will be exposed and opposed. So, when the devil shows and informs them that the Bible says, “Judge not,” they are more than happy to believe it and to accept this mantra as their first and great commandment. It matters not that he ignores the context of the statement or the location of the statement. Nor does it matter that the Bible gives us specific commands to judge in various places. No, all that matters to the friends of sin is that the words “judge not” are found somewhere in the Bible. Once they’ve taken that jab, they are inoculated for life against anyone who speaks against their hellish way of life. If you say, “Wine is a mocker . . .”, they will say, “Judge not!” They don’t even have to discuss the many Bible warnings against strong drink, because Satan has inoculated them with a smooth little two word talking point that they can use against anyone at any time. Any measure of righteous truth runs the high risk of being shot down by some inoculated fool yelling, “Judge not!” I know a preacher who simply handed a woman a gospel tract one time which asked the question of whether or not she was certain that she is going to heaven. She replied, “Well, you sure aren’t, because you’re JUDGING!” The brother only handed her a tract, yet that’s the knee-jerk response that it got. Why? Because she was injected with the devil’s “judge not” drug up to her eyeballs! She couldn’t process sound spiritual thought because her mind had been drugged by Satan! Folks, I am not exaggerating in the least! Paul said that our minds can be CORRUPTED and SPOILED by the devil, and it’s happening everywhere! I know a man who sat in Sunday school and made a comment against a certain sin during a class discussion. Immediately, someone accused him of judging! He didn’t know how to handle it, so he claimed that he wasn’t judging, only stating facts. BOTH of them were blind as a bat in regards to God’s will and God’s word about righteous judgment (John 7:24)! At the evil hands of Satan, this thing continues to spread like a plague across America as millions and millions of people, Christians included, are taking the devil’s “judge not” jab and FEELING GOOD about it! Spiritual discernment and righteous judgment is a work of the Holy Spirit in the believer (John 16:8; I Cor. 2:15; John 7:24; I Cor. 6:1-5), and anyone who doesn’t engage in righteous judgement regularly is either backslidden or just plain lost. Yet, just look at how many millions of people have been inoculated into believing just the opposite! Satan has many deadly drugs in his bag, and the “judge not” vaccine is one of the deadliest. We could continue a good long while, but you surely see how subtle the devil can be, yet how naïve so many of God’s people can be in not detecting this hellishness and being aware of the devil’s devices.
