And God Divided The Light From The Darkness
Genesis 1:1-5 -- “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”
In the beginning there was God. God created the heaven and the earth but there was only darkness. God created light. He called the light Day and the darkness He called night. Sounds simple, but on that first day God did more than create light and give names to Day and Night. God “divided the light from the darkness”. He saw the light and said it was good. Since the light was good then the darkness must be bad. That division still exists today and that division lays the eternal foundation for another division. The division between good and evil or right and wrong or that which is holy from that which is sin. This division sets up the foundation for the doctrine of sin.
Today there are people who seek to live in a world in which the division between right and wrong or holy and sin does not exist. Their objective is to tear down that division so neither right and wrong or holy and sin exist anymore. In many ways we are already seeing the results of this insanity in America. When there is no law, there will be anarchy. In America, anarchy is evident at every level of society. In homes, in schools, and in the government of communities, states, and the country we see the evidence of the division between light and darkness being erased and we see anarchy.
In their depraved heart the people who promote this ideology believe if they can take away the existence of anything being called sin then there will be no such person as a holy God to answer to, which is anarchy at its pinnacle. Over the next few days we will further examine the doctrine of sin.
