1 Peter 4:17 -- For the time is come that judgment must begin at the h o u s e of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?HOUSE OF GOD: This is a place, a location, where the children of God meet. In the Old Testament, God met with his people at the Tabernacle. It was designed by God to be the H o u s e of God.Later, King Solomon built the Temple and this was the designated place that was the H o u s e of God.In the Gospels, the Children of Israel met in Synagogues and this was a designated as H o u s e of God.In Acts, the H o u s e of God was founded and called the Church, a designated place of worship for Christians. When God is ready to judge his people, the Judgment begins with the H o u s e of God.God's judgments is not a hammer falling from heaven, but judgments in allowing what we refuse to judge to become our judgments in life and society.Now, let that sink down into the center of your heart.When the H o u s e of God refuses to judge Sin, then that sin judges the whole H o u s e of God.Now, we can w a k e up and understand that God will judge us or we can continue to live as 'if' God is going to overlook sinfulness.If we f a i l to judge sin, then God will use that sin to be the hammer that judges us for our rebellious attitude against God.
