"GOD'S SONGBOOK OF DELIVERANCE." "Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt COMPASS me about with SONGS OF DELIVERANCE. Selah." (Psalm 32:7) (caps mine)I don't know if you have ever realized it, but our Lord is in the "Delivery Business," and He's been delivering since Adam was a created from a pile of dirt, and folks, that was many moons ago.My Lord has delivered me so many times from so many things, I couldn't even begin to attach a number to all of them. Many I remember, but there many more that I failed to recognize at that time. Yet, God was right there in the midst of every one of them, and you could easily give testimony to the fact that He was right there delivering you many times as well. There are a host of "Delivery Cases" involving folks in the Scriptures we could cite; but allow me to give just a few Deliveries that you and I will experience or have experienced.First, our faithful God promises to deliver us from temptation with His way of escape: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Corinthians 10:13) When the devil comes our way roaring like a lion seeking to devour us, he won be coming wearing sneakers and carrying a pitchfork. No! He will be coming wearing a custom-made suit while flashing a gentleman-like smile and twisting Scripture to make some unsuspecting soul that he has a better plan than God. I believe Satan is indeed a handsome angel, but folks, he is STILL the devil with a table reserved in Hell. It sure is good to know that when he comes sashaying our way, that our Great Deliverer has made for you and me a way of escape for any temptation the accuser of the brethren tries to trick us with. With that being said, God's faithfulness also assures in Psalm 91:15 that He will deliver us from trouble saying, "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." Trouble! Boy oh boy! Christians can get in trouble faster than ole long-nosed Pinocchio could tell a lie. Some folks can get in trouble without even trying. Yet, God says He will deliver His children when they get in trouble. We may surely pay a price for the trouble we get in because of our own stupidity, but God will always stand by His children because they have been bought with a price.Do afflictions have you weighed down right about now? Well, here comes the Holy Spirit again telling us in Psalm 34:19, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." Did He inspire all? Well, that's what our Comforter said. All always mean all and that's all that all of us will ever need! Finally, may we never forget the most important delivery of all. That's when Jesus Christ came to Earth to deliver us. He brought Freedom and Liberty with Him for us who were being held captive in our powerless penalty-ridden poverty. For He declared, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the POOR; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach DELIVERANCE to the CAPTIVES, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at LIBERTY them that are bruised,"(Luke 4:18) (caps mine)Friends, how about you? Are you singing the Songs of Deliverance? May I suggest that you turn to any page in God's Songbook and read the songs of how God performed deliveries in the past and promises to act on them again for you and me in the present. Each of us should be well acquainted with those Glorious Tunes of Truth. Lift your voice and sing from Heaven's Hymnbook of Deliverance
