"THE AMAZING GOODNESS OF GOD.""Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes." (Psalm 119:68)God is good. He is not just pretty good, or partially good, No No!! Our God is perfectly good. He is altogether good in everything He did or will do.God’s perfect character does not have even the slightest hint of imperfection or sinfulness. We're taught from 1 John 1:5, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all." He is so good that His own character is the standard by which He will righteously judge the world.God's goodness is just one of His many attributes. God is good and so everything He does good! When He finished creating all things, we find in Genesis 1:31, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." Even now this sin-cursed earth benefits daily from the sheer goodness of God to send the rain and sunshine we enjoy which provides the food that we need.God is so good that He is the One Who takes the initiative in leading one to repentance (Romans 2:4). God is working all things together for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28). The sanctifying work He daily performs in us by His Spirit is “according to his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13). The Scriptures also tell us that God is so good that His mercy endureth for ever (Psalm 106:1). Now that right there would be enough for me leap for joy even if I happened to be confined to a wheelchair and unable to move a muscle. For I stand in need of His mercy moment by moment!So, what should our response be as creatures of such a good God? The psalmist cries out, “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men." (Psalms 107:8) Our worship, our praise, and our devotion are the only reasonable response to the purity and goodness of our God. For He alone is worthy of our trust and thankfulness.Friends, whatever you're going through today and beyond remember, since God is good ALL THE TIME, you can therefore trust Him and be blessed ANYTIME!
