LOST Matthew 18:11 “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” “Lost”; there is a word that has been sadly misplaced and replaced in the church’s vocabulary. It pictures a person who cannot help themselves. In Luke chapter 15 we find a lost sheep, a lost piece of silver, and a lost son. The lost sheep needed a good and loving shepherd to go and search for it until it was found. The house in which was the lost piece of silver had to be lightened and swept before the silver could be found. The lost son had come to himself and arise and go to his father before he could find his way back home. The piece of silver was lost but did not know it was lost. The sheep was lost but could not find its way back home. The son was lost and knew his way back home, but had to first come to himself before he could remember the way. I am a firm believer that before a person can be saved they must see they are lost. How does the church help those who are lost and need help? We preach Christ! Christ is the only Light that will bring them out of their spiritual darkness!Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” 2 Corinthians 4:3-5 “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.” Do you know anyone who is lost and needs to find their way to Jesus Christ?
