In what could be a close race for the U.S. Senate in Nevada, former President Donald Trump has voiced his support for retired U.S. Army Captain Sam Brown, the state’s incumbent senator.
“I fully support Sam Brown… He will never let you down,” former President Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on June 9.
Mr. Brown defeated his top Republican rival in Nevada, former U.S. Ambassador to Iceland Jeff Gunter, to earn the former president’s endorsement. Mr. Brown is now the favorite in the Silver State Republican primary, where 11 other Republicans are vying for the nomination.

Mr. Brown has also been endorsed by Nevada’s Republican governor, former Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo.
The Nevada primary will be held on Tuesday, June 11. The winner of the primary will face incumbent Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) in the November 2024 election.
After receiving the endorsement, Ms. Rosen wrote on X that she believed Mr. Brown’s “agenda to ban abortion, cut health care, and slash Social Security is wrong for Nevada.”
