What’s Real About Your Life?Acts 26:26 “For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.” 1 John 5:19-20 “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” I do not know if you have noticed it, but there is not much in our world that is real or true anymore. Man has gotten so good at making the artificial look so real one has to take an up-close look, even touch the object, to find out if it is real. A hypocrite is a play-actor and man has gotten real good at playacting in life to be someone or something not real. Let me use emojis for example. Nearly everyone who texts or emails regularly uses them. I have used them, and I am not saying they are wrong to use. But how many of us has sent a LOL 😂 emoji when we really did not laugh out loud? Or we were made sad by what we read and we sent a crying 😢 emoji when we really were not crying? How easy is it for one to hide what is real behind an emoji? When the apostle Paul stood before King Agrippa, giving witness of his own salvation and giving witness about the death and resurrection of Christ he said, “the king knoweth… none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner”. In other words, the king knows what I am witnessing about is all very real! In our text in 1 John the apostle John wrote about what was true or real! Here is what the scripture in 1 John said was true or real. Real Christians know we are in Christ. We know the world lies in wickedness. We know Christ is God and God is real. And we know that if our life is in Christ then our life ought to be a testimony of the real God! May all who are true Christians be real Christians!
