“GUIDED IN OUR WALK BY FAITH.” "For we walk by faith, not by sight:" (2 Corinthians 5:7)The Christian’s path is often a very rough one, isn't it? I've known some good Christian folks who were living by faith when all of a sudden, they hit bottom. Then the next day arrives, and the bottom falls out. Now that's real rough!Yes, there are those thorns of temptations and the briars of bewilderment growing on either side of the road. Many dark clouds hang over that trail, and the voices of cheering here on Earth is a rare sound to be heard that might strengthen our hopes and soothe our hearts.Yet, come what may, if we live faithfully according to God's Word, we still believe it is the right path and we will walk it by faith. Real faith sees those trials as mercies in disguise, knowing that the many tribulations we encounter along the way, will one day end when we enter one of those Gates of Pearl and then joyfully stroll down that Street of Gold to that place which the Lord Jesus has promised He would prepare.We believe all He sends our way is needful. It is indeed the very best way our Heavenly Father selected. God's design for each of us may vary, but all are filled with His sufficient grace. His presence goes with us at every turn and those dangerous curves are His to unwind as we make our way together with the Captain of our salvation!Yes, we can sweetly and most assuredly rest on His precious promises. We are often unfaithful in our work for Him. oh, but God will never lie or deny His children, for He has always been more faithful to us than we could ever hope to be for Him.When we're surrounded by trials and when it seems as though everything is against us, we can continue on and boldly declare those words of Paul. "But none of these things MOVE ME, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God." (Acts 20:24) (caps mine)Remember now, friends, we have our Guide, and He's been guiding us from our new birth, and will continue to do so, till we come to that moment when He calls us Home because "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." (Psalm 116:15)
