THE MAGNIFIED WORD "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." (Psalm 138:2) The verse is a real jewel because it gives the reader some definite insight about the importance of the word of God. The verse states that the word of God is above the name of God, which should be no surprise to anyone who has read Matthew 7:22-23. Then Nehemiah 9:5 places God’s name above all blessing and praise. So, the order of importance is as follows: 1. God’s word2. God’s name3. all blessing and praise Now for the application: You can do anything you want in God's name, but God will reject it, if it doesn't line up with the word (Mat. 7:22-23). Furthermore, you can have an emotionally-charged blessing and praise camp meeting at the Community Praise and Worship Tabernacle every week, but if you go AGAINST the Book, instead of following the Book, you will QUENCH the Holy Spirit, even though you'll think you're following the Holy Spirit. The Book comes first, else apostasy is inevitable.
