I just heard one of these keyboard theologians say that adding anything to your faith means that you are trusting in works for salvation and is heresy. Seriously? Looks like someone forgot to tell Peter:"And beside this, giving all diligence, ADD TO YOUR FAITH virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." (II Peter 1:5-8) Obviously, Peter wasn't telling anyone to TRUST in those things, but rather to ADD them to their faith. It is faith in Christ which saves (Eph. 2:8-9), but good works should naturally follow (Eph. 2:10). Adding to your faith isn't heresy. To the contrary, NOT adding to it is heresy!
