Acts 20:21 (KJV) Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
R e p e n t a n c e: It’s directional.
It’s toward God and away from a selfish deceitful attitude that has imprisoned you and blinded you from God’s truth.
You can have remorse, and regret but never possess r e p e n t a n c e.
You can shed tears without ever repenting.
R e p e n t a n c e: is not just turning from your sin. Judas did that when he returned his 30 pieces of silver. He was grieved at what he did but n e v e r repented and turned to God.
R e p e n t a n c e is a change in the heart that comes after conviction from the Word of God then leads to a change in your thoughts and life.
=> Matthew 3:8 (KJV) Bring forth therefore fruits meet for r e p e n t a n c e:
=> Matthew 7:16 (KJV) Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Change is the f r u i t of repentance. If all things are the same then your life is only full of regret, remorse, recognition of sinfulness, but you’ve never “confessed” that you are wrong and you’ve sinned against God’s holy and righteous truth.
Therefore, the door of opportunity is closing and that puts God in a position that he must Judge sinfulness.
Once judgments begin, it will be too late to repent until his judgments are finished.
Repent while you can or that door will close.
