2 Peter 2:1 (KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
DAMNABLE HERESIES: The Devil knows how to imitate a truth and make it into a lie.
False teachings and teachers produce false believers.
Once you fallen for a lie, usually pride prevents you from being rescued by the Truth.
Cain and Judas are two examples of those who knew truth but ignored it for their OWN truth.
The Way of Cain (Jude 1:11) still prevail within various denominations by teaching that Christ death was not sufficient and Jesus needs you AND your religious works to finish/complete your salvation.
Judas teaches us that faithfulness means nothing. You can walk with Jesus, sing with Jesus, pray with Jesus but if someone else offers you MORE you will jump ship in a heart beat. (Matthew 27:3). This person is never trustworthy and usually have power over the $funds$ within a church.
Both lead to other deceptions so make sure you are Biblically in your understanding of salvation and not just following a religious belief system that use religious/regulatory terms that are not even found in the scriptures.
