COVID-19 AND THE VACCINE by Bill Blust Jr.I'm really confused about this new vaccine for Covid-19. I'm hearing it's 90% effective. Ok, 90% effective from getting Covid-19, or, 90% effective that you will survive Covid-19 if you get it.According to what statistics I have read, the survival chance for people who do get Covid-19 in the following age groups are:0 to 19 have a 99.997% survival chance20 to 49 a 99.98% survival chance50 to 69 years old 99.5% survival chance70 years old and above a 94.6% survival chanceSo let's take me for instance, I'm 60 years old. According to these statistics, I have a 99.5% chance of survival. So, if that vaccine percentage of 90% is for the survival chance after getting Covid-19, then in reality, my natural survival chance of 99.5% is better than the vaccines 90% survival chance. But, if I get the vaccine, do I have a 90% chance of not getting Covid-19. According to the CDC website, they say, "Based on what we know about vaccines for other diseases, experts believe that getting a COVID-19 vaccine may help keep you from getting seriously ill even if you do get COVID-19." So, does that mean that if I get the Covid-19 vaccine I have a 90% chance of not getting Covid-19? And if I would get the vaccine and be one of the 10% that would get Covid-19, would I be less seriously ill?I don't know. I'm not sure I can trust a vaccine that is about to be released that was in development for such a short time. Usually vaccines take years to develop and test. I got the yearly flu shot every year. I still ended up getting the flu along with acute bronchitis. When I stopped getting the flu shot, surprisingly, I stopped getting so sick every Winter. So I'm really skeptical about vaccines, especially one that has been rushed through.I'm going to pass on a vaccine. Someone else is more than welcome to mine.
