God has assured us time and time again that He will be with us. God’s protection for us is so deep that, even when we die on this earth, we are not lost to the power of death. Our life continues in heaven until Christ returns to give us our mortal bodies. God is always faithful.

Actually when Christ returns, the bodies we receive will appear like our mortal bodies but will be as immortal as our spirits are because e will have them for eternity in heaven - those of us who make it there.
