Never Thirst Again John 4:13-14 - “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” Thirst is a natural physical occurrence. When you are thirsty you go to a well and take a drink of water. But sometime after you drink that water, you will thirst again. This kind of thirst repeats itself. This is exactly what the woman of Samaria did in John chapter 4. She was thirsty again and she went to the well to draw water. There is also a spiritual thirst. This woman of Samaria had this thirst as well. She had sought to fulfill her spiritual thirst through the love of a man. Five husbands and a live-in boyfriend could not quench her spiritual thirst. But when she got to the well she got more than just H2O, she met the Living Water. She partook of this Water and forever her spiritual thirst was quenched! There is a thirst that every person has that cannot be quenched by the wells of this world. If one drinks from those wells, they will always thirst again. But when one drinks from the well of salvation that only Jesus can offer, as He said, they “will never thirst”! If you are physically thirsty what do you do? You go to a faucet and drink. Are you spiritually thirsty? Then Jesus offers you to come and drink and never thirst! Only Christ can bring lasting satisfaction!
