Hey, You Better Watch Where You’re Going!Proverbs 4:25-27 “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Being on a farm you learn quickly to watch where you are going! You know what I mean?! 💩On a spiritual note it would behoove us Christians to spiritually watch where we are going. Our text in Proverbs admonishes us to cause our “eyes to look right on” and our “eyelids to look straight before” us. This means to watch what is down the road a short distance while at the same time watch what is directly before your next step. That is immediate, but note how the next admonition is to “ponder the path” you’re on “and let all your ways be established”. Take a look over the last several days and chart the course of where you have been going and where it looks like you are headed. Are you headed towards a closer walk with God? Are you walking in the ways of His Word? Have your steps been pleasing to the Lord? Our final admonition is to stay steady on the course you know God has for your life, “turn not to the right hand or to the left”. Make sure you “remove thy foot from evil” that is before you. This all goes right along with the New Testament admonition we find in Ephesians 5:15-17 - “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” Hey Christian, “Watch where you are going!”
