The Bible Study –
God's Reconciliation Through Christ
The readings for Thursday, April 4 are Exodus 17:1-16 & Hebrews 11:1-29.
In our Old Testament text, the people thirst in the desert
They grumble against God instead of turning to the Lord in faith.
Yet, true to His promises, the Lord provides them with water.
When we’re in need, we can always turn to God in prayer.
As Christians we’ve received His gift of grace and forgiveness through Jesus, a gift that will last to eternity.
Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ hands while he grasped the staff during a battle.
Today, fellow believers, the body of Christ, are here to support and encourage us within His true Church.
There we encounter Christ, His Word and Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
We pray for those around the world who suffer for the Christian faith.
May our Lord comfort and protect the persecuted Church.
It is by faith that Christians live while in this world broken by sin.
It’s by faith that we are saved.
It is by faith in our Saviour Jesus Christ that we will be granted everlasting life.
