The Bible Study – Our texts for Tuesday, April 2 are Exodus 15:19 – 16:12 & Hebrews 10:1-18. The people God saved from slavery doubt His provision of food and complain to Moses. The Lord graciously provides them manna to eat. The true bread that has come down from Heaven is our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. He has given His flesh on the cross, so that those who believe in Him can be sustained and have eternal life. Many today still turn away from God in doubt and grumble. Yet God has shown us unfailing love and provision in our resurrected Lord. Christ, the only Son of God, came into this world to do His Father’s will. “And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Heb. 10:10) Those who receive the free gift of salvation through Christ, the Lamb of God, who took away the sins of the world, have reconciliation with the Father: “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more. Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin”. (Heb. 10:17) There are false churches that teach that we must save ourselves, in whole or part, by ‘good works’ and obedience to the law. The Apostle Paul explained, “For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.” (Romans 3:28) Thank God we’re saved by His grace alone, through faith alone, in our Saviour Jesus Christ alone.
