The Bible Study –
Our readings for Wednesday, March 20 are Exodus 4:1-18 & Mark 15:1-15.
The Lord gives Moses powerful signs to convince the Egyptians to let His people go.
Moses feels unworthy, and slow of speech.
God reminds Moses that it is He who has made man’s mouth, and is in control.
God tells Moses that Aaron will speak for Him, and Moses will instruct Aaron with God’s Word.
In our Christian witness we can feel inadequate.
In secular times we may fear rejection and ridicule.
We need not fear.
It is God’s powerful Word that He sends us.
Our Lord calls us to spread His message of salvation to those in spiritual need. (Matt. 28:16-20)
In our Gospel passage from Mark, we see Christ before Pilate.
At the urging of Temple officials, the crowd calls for a convicted murderer to be released, leaving Jesus to be crucified.
Christ, the sinless and just Lamb of God, was sacrificed for the unjust, so that we could be forgiven, our sin debt paid in full.
Through His innocent blood we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:21-25)
We’re saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
