The Bible Study –
Our readings for Tuesday, March 19 are Exodus 2:23 – 3:22 & Mark 14:53-72.
God hears the affliction of His people at the hands of the Egyptians.
The Almighty calls Moses, who is tending a flock, to be a shepherd of His people and lead them in the Exodus.
Lead them to a physical promised land.
Moses is apprehensive at first.
God reassures the prophet He will be with him.
Since the Fall in the Garden, God has seen the affliction of His people broken by sin.
Out of love, He sent the true Good Shepherd, Jesus, true God and true man, to lead believers into the eternal promised land of Heaven.
God calls the faithful today to witness to Christ, our Saviour.
We may feel apprehensive, but our Lord promises to be with and never leave us.
Jesus testifies to the Sanhedrin that He is the Christ, the Son of God.
He is condemned and beaten for this truth.
Our Redeemer was well aware of the consequences of what He revealed.
Obedient to His Father’s will, Christ is prepared to go to the cross to pay for the sins of the world.
The disciple Peter denies His Lord three times.
It is not upon Peter, but on Peter’s confession of faith in Christ, a faith given Him by God, that the Church is built.
The Lord will forgive and restore Peter.
God forgives and restores Christian believers for the sake of the crucified and resurrected Saviour of the world, Jesus Christ.
