Why is Steve Buscemi in a lot of Adam Sandler movies?During my days working at Sony Studios as a studio liaison (studio go-between with executives, term deals, and incoming Film/TV productions), I ran into Sandler and his Happy Madison Production team a lot. His company is based out of Sony Studios and has been for over 20 years. I’ve played basketball with him. I took Sony ID pictures of his late pup Meatball (RIP). He and I had a great one-on-one conversation about my home state of Wisconsin (where his late best friend Chris Farley grew up).In those days, I learned that Adam Sandler is loyal. Plain and simple. He loves making movies with his friends. His development team? All friends. His co-stars? Mostly friends he has made over the years.Steve Buscemi told Variety about Sandler: We first worked together on “Airheads” and we just really hit it off. When he started making his own films, he asked me to be in the first one and we had a blast. He always puts together a good group and he’s been working with a lot of the same people since his college days.Why is Buscemi in so many of his movies? Because they’re friends. And Sandler loves working with his friends. And he takes care of them.
