What keeps a campfire burning? Without wood, the fire will burn out. In the same way, gossip is something that needs a flame to spread. In this case, the flame is an individual with a mouth that speaks. Gossip cannot be spread if people are not speaking it. Do you struggle with gossip? If so, you must stop! This is a sin – instead, as a believer, you should speak uplifting words to and about others. If you happen to hear gossip, do not share it. This is one way, as a Christian, you can help extinguish this flame (or cease this tale).
