Have you ever been attacked based on your beliefs? Have you ever felt like society is spreading a false report? I know that I have had these feelings before.Christ is risen. We know that he lived, died, and was reborn so that our sins would be forgiven and so that we would have the chance at eternal life. Many people do not believe this and sometimes we are mocked and ridiculed as believers of Christ. Let's examine what happens in these verses.Christ is resurrected and his body is not found where he was buried. In order to deal with this situation and the potential riots that would follow if everyone found out, the elders assembled and gave large amounts of money to the followers in order to spread false rumors. Instead of letting them say that Christ was reborn, they give them money so that they will say that his followers came and stole him in the night.Let us bring this message to modern times. False rumors are still being spread today. Get on social media and you will be bombarded by false rumors and sometimes your beliefs will be ridiculed and mocked because they are different from others. Keep faith loyal Christians! Continue to spread the truth. We have a responsibility to spread the good news of the Gospel, regardless of how other people react. It is our duty.In your own life, are there people that you feel are spreading false rumors? How can you help them? Do not respond to their actions in kind, but instead respond to their actions with kindness. We have been shown the way by Christ, but they have not yet seen the light. Show it to them so that another witness in Christ can be born.Prayer:Christ almighty, I am a witness to your grace. I know the true nature of your life and shall spread the good news of the Gospel. Give me the courage and strength to do so even as false witnesses have different reports and beliefs. With God as my refuge and strength, I know that all things are possible. Amen.
