If there is one thing that the word of God assures of time and time again, it is that we put aside fear and trust in God completely. The phrase "do not fear" appears in the Bible over three hundred times. This shows you that God has gone to the ends of the earth to show you and me that we never have a reason to worry, fear or panic in any situation. No matter how grave it may appear to be.Fear is not of God. Fear is a device of the enemy that is designed to sidetrack you from focusing on God. God fills our hearts with peace and love, and fear cannot be anywhere where peace and love are present. This is why we are to put our trust in God; because His guidance will never give us a reason to fear.The enemy often uses fear in the times when something great is meant to be headed our way. In the book of Joshua, Joshua had just become the leader of the Israelites after the death of Moses. It must have been a very daunting assignment for him, considering the way God used Moses mightily to free and lead the people of Israel. Joshua also had a great task ahead of him – leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. This should have been an exciting time for him. But from what we have read, it may appear that he was a little scared. Understandably so. The weight of everyone’s expectations was on him.But God came in and assured him of everything that he was worried about. He turned Joshua’s focus back to him and reminded him that He is always with them. Though Joshua had a great task ahead of Him, God wasn’t expecting him to do it on his own. God was going to be with him every step of the way.This is the same thing for us and our lives. God has set tasks ahead of us that he intends for us to complete. They may appear intimidating when we think of trying to do them in our own power. But Praise God, we don’t have to go through anything alone.God is with us every step of the way. We can safely put our trust in Him, knowing that everything ahead of us is set. When God is for us, who can ever be against us and prosper?Absolutely no one.
