Being from Louisiana, what really happened is that in 2020, The United States was totally Energy Independent, and then a cult came in and instituted a war on the Oil and Gas business, making drilling and exploration very difficult under the insane Green New Deal. Fortunately, drilling technology has continued to get more efficient due to research in Texas and Louisiana, and now, even with the Mid-East conflicts, the US is again the largest oil-producing country in the world, and this has kept a lid on oil prices, which both conservative and liberals enjoy. The higher cost of Oil and diesel increases shipping and trucking since solar fairies can't run those vessels, and thus the cost of goods to us, the consumers, which is called inflation ...............................this is how the cookie crumbles; heaven help us.
