Is Your Faith Too Quiet?
Psalm 51:15 (NIV®)
Open my lips, LORD, and my mouth will declare your praise.
How many times have you sat somewhere and engaged in mindless chatter just to pass the time? If you can do that, you can have a conversation about your faith. We are pretty good at talking about things we care about, and we can talk about things we don’t care about if we try. But when it comes to talking about our faith, our response is often, “No, I can’t do that. I might offend someone!” God didn’t seem concerned about offending anyone when He sent Moses to confront a possessive Pharaoh or sent Ananias to give murderous Saul a message. Those were not easy assignments, but God expected His people to carry them out. The truth is, we’re supposed to take our faith outside the church building. We’re supposed to be talking about Jesus in the health clubs and the country clubs. If you’re afraid of losing a friend or a business deal because of your faith, your faith might be too quiet.
THINK ABOUT IT
Ask the Lord for the wisdom to know when to speak and what to say, and He will gladly honor your request.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for assigning me to this season—for preparing and equipping me. Forgive me for when I have been timid, quiet, reluctant, or embarrassed. I will follow You and make a difference in my home, neighborhood, and every place I occupy. In Jesus' name, amen.
Blessings,
