Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. Have you ever said anything nearly as nice as the words that are said in these verses? I honestly don’t think that I have ever been so nice to any person in my entire life. These verses have been said every Sunday in many churches since they were first repeated. "Peace be with you." "And also with you." How many times have we heard these words at church? More importantly, how many times have these words really meant something to us?Jesus wants to teach his apostles everything that he knows, leaving them peace and to comfort them after his death. His message to them was perfect, leaving them the Holy Spirit to guide them. He emphasizes that the world does not provide the same to them.Notice the word at the beginning, "comforter." The Holy Spirit is all around us, providing comfort to us. What a nice reminder that is to have! We are not alone and shall be comforted. Not by a peace that the world can provide, but by something greater. Draw upon that peace whenever it is needed. Do not be afraid or troubled, for that is what the Lord has asked.
