The Vikings called Constantinople "Miklagård", which means "Large City." An appropriate name considering that during this period the population of Constantinople was between 500,000 - 800,000. A massive amount of people compared to the other cities the Vikings traded with such as Paris which had a population of roughly 20,000 during the same period. (Art by: Erik Nyvist)
