"Let Grace Replace Anger"
It has been said that if you're not angry at evil, then it's doubtful you love good. Love for good compels one to resist that which tarnishes, undermines, or destroys it. That being said, what is going on in the soul of a person who is angry about good? A woman was furious because her husband gave some money to a missionary friend. A man was livid because an employee refused to lie. A boy was mad at his girl friend because she wanted to save sex for marriage. A prosecutor seethed because a DNA test proved his suspect wasn't guilty after all.
What right do these people have to be angry? Or, why would someone get angry when the kids make a mess? Or when their spouse disagrees? Or when someone else gets chosen? Or when they get a parking ticket? In fact, what right do any of us have to be angry? God is angry at the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11) but we're angry at people who are good. Is it not pride? Is not that we're offended when we don't get our way? When we aren't treated the way we want to be treated?
Here's how one pundit expressed it: A person who is angry on the right grounds, against the right persons, in the right manner, at the right moment, and for the right length of time...probably doesn't exist.
Today let grace replace anger. See if it doesn't make for a more enjoyable day. Plus, it'll do wonders for your blood pressure.
